The Victim Assistance Volunteer Program (VAVP) is a community-based service working alongside the Ontario Provincial Police to provide emotional support and practical assistance to victims of crime and road trauma during crisis situations.
How can I become a volunteer?
Visit the volunteer section of our website to complete the application form. All volunteers undergo specialized training to prepare them for the role.
I have no experience in the field. Am I still eligible to apply?
Yes. We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds. Training is provided, and no prior experience is required—only compassion and commitment.
What kinds of crisis situations can volunteers expect to respond to?
Volunteers may assist in incidents involving motor vehicle collisions, personal injuries, fatalities, or other traumatic events where emotional support is needed.
Are volunteer hours available for high school students?
Yes. High school students can earn volunteer hours, provided they meet program requirements and complete training.
