Program Goals


The Victim Assistance Volunteer Program aims to:


  • Lessen the trauma experienced by victims and their loved ones due to traffic collisions, including coping with death, disfigurement, or long-term physical and mental impairment.
  • Promote community involvement in addressing the impact of motor vehicle collisions and building a network of support.
  • Support a collaborative police-community approach to enhance the promotion of highway safety.
  • Provide 24/7 support in partnership with the Ontario Provincial Police (O.P.P.), ensuring immediate coordination and assistance to victims.
  • Educate the public and raise awareness by participating in seminars and conferences that foster better community understanding of available victim support services.
