Program Goals
The Victim Assistance Volunteer Program aims to:
- Lessen the trauma experienced by victims and their loved ones due to traffic collisions, including coping with death, disfigurement, or long-term physical and mental impairment.
- Promote community involvement in addressing the impact of motor vehicle collisions and building a network of support.
- Support a collaborative police-community approach to enhance the promotion of highway safety.
- Provide 24/7 support in partnership with the Ontario Provincial Police (O.P.P.), ensuring immediate coordination and assistance to victims.
- Educate the public and raise awareness by participating in seminars and conferences that foster better community understanding of available victim support services.
